‘Addams’ auditions

Auditions for Ascension Community Theatre’s fall production of “The Addams Family,” a musical comedy directed by Lorna Culmone Bourgeois, will be held Aug. 1-3 at the theater, 823 Felicity St., Gonzales.

Vocal and dance auditions will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 1 and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 2, with callbacks for speaking roles on Aug. 3. Cast announcements will be made Aug. 10, and rehearsals will begin after Labor Day. Auditions are by appointment only; call (225) 647-1230 and leave a message.

“The Addams Family” is an original story based on the “Addams Family” cartoon, TV and movie characters. Eighteen-year-old Wednesday has fallen in love with a young man her parents have never met. She confides in family patriarch Gomez and begs him not to tell her mother. Gomez must keep the secret from Morticia, but everything will change when the family hosts a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Performances are scheduled for Oct. 22-25 and Oct. 28-31.
