Prairieville Primary School fourth-graders learned about U.S. history thanks to a project that turned them into famous Americans for a one-day living museum.

Teacher Laurie Richard said the nearly 150 students selected famous Americans who influenced history for their projects.

After conducting research, the students wrote reports, constructed timelines, created poetry and wrote speeches about their characters.

Then, in May, each student dressed like his or her character as part of a living museum program.
