Girl Scout Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes of Troop 10340 joined forces with LeBlanc’s Frais Marche in Prairieville for cooking classes.

Brownies worked with chef Renate Delarosa on June 7 to earn their Brownie Snacks badge. Girls had hands-on experience creating frozen strawberry yogurt, strawberry banana smoothies, granola and steamed salted edamame beans, and learned about the importance of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen, a news release said. Brownies Elizabeth Day, Gabriela Watts, Lexis Grayson, London Greenfield, Nyvea Burks, Saige Landry and Sophia Day attended the class.

Juniors met with chef Scott Paige on May 4 to prepare a meal to earn their Simple Meals badge. The girls made strawberry and mango parfaits, breakfast burritos, taco pizza, and cabbage and apple slaw. Juniors Alyssa Dufour, Alyssa Meche, Annabeth Meisel, Aryn Scott, Carolyne Warner, Kyla Payton, Leah Haines and McKenna Aymond attended the program.

Cadettes also worked with Paige on May 18, creating dishes from around the world to earn their New Cuisines badge.

The American dish, peanut butter banana sandwich, was inspired by Elvis Presley’s love of the sandwich, the release said. The girls also made quesadillas and strawberry shortcake. The girls learned knife safety, kitchen cleanliness and how to plan a menu for the family. Cadette attendance included Alyvia McDonald, Harlie Warner, Kaitlyn Guillot and Melody Para.

When the workshops were done, the girls tasted their creations.
