Prairieville Middle School pumped up its students with a Sept. 5 pep rally on the football field.
Seventh-grade student reporter Brianna Pittman said different school groups took part in the pep rally.
As the students were being seated, band director William Barbay led the band.
Football and volleyball players, cheerleaders, dance team members and the water girls were introduced by coach Brad Stutzman.
The cheerleaders led the group in a “P-V-M. Go Panthers Go!” cheer and the dance team performed.
To end the pep rally, each sport had two members volunteer to participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise funds for charities. Coach Tab Harris grabbed a bucket of ice water and dumped it on the volunteers. Seventh-grade teacher Terrilyn Darr and Assistant Principal Matthew Geraci volunteered for the challenge. More teachers and administrators took part in the challenge.
