Ascension Parish Deputies Tyrus Cobb, Justin Ellis, Marvin Williams and Daniel Goppelt graduated March 31 from the Capital Area Regional Training Academy in Baton Rouge.

Capital Area Regional Training Academy is a service provided by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, a news release from Sheriff Jeff Wiley’s office said.

There were 39 graduates representing 10 agencies from across the state. The graduates learned physical training, legal and report writing skills, law enforcement history, and numerous other topics and skills.

“This graduation represents 11 weeks of hard work and resulted in all of these deputies attaining their POST certification,” Lt. Col. Bobby Webre said.
