Eight members of St. Amant DECA traveled to Orlando, Florida, to attend the DECA Sports Entertainment and Marketing Conference in early February.
The group stayed at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort at Universal Studios.
On Feb. 4, DECA members from across the country listened to guest speakers Kate Laysaught, Keith Marshal, Mary Wood and Eric Gray, who work in marketing for Universal Studios. After the workshop, the DECA members spent the day enjoying the rides at Universal Studios.
Guest speakers Doug Smith, Alex Wall, Deno Anagnost and Sam Stark talked about sports marketing and the teams they promote on Feb. 5.
On Feb. 6, the students went to Disney World, where they were divided into groups and given a task to complete while they rode all of the rides, based on key questions and observations that Disney’s marketers answer and witness every day.
