St. Amant High School FFA members were given the opportunity to see state government in action earlier this month while attending Louisiana State FFA Capitol Day.

The one-day event is held each May at the State Capitol, allowing members to observe Legislative committees and meet with local state senators and representatives, FFA sponsor Mandy Delaune said.

During the day, a luncheon was held at the Capitol Park Museum, and FFA members had the chance to observe committee meetings. At the luncheon, Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain talked to FFA members and encouraged them to continue to work hard for the future of agriculture.
