The Gonzales Dixie Boys Baseball League has set its registration dates and reminds interested players they don’t have to live in Gonzales to be a part of the team.

Dixie Boys District Director Don Baudouin said players ages 13 and 14 can sign up even if they live outside the city limits.

Gonzales Dixie Boys League President Tim Babin, Vice President Kenny Fife and Secretary Olin Berthelot invited players from surrounding areas to take part in the 2016 season, which runs from April through June.

“We guarantee around 20 games, which are played at Municipal Park in Gonzales during the week and occasionally on Saturdays,” a news release said.

Registration is Feb. 13, Feb. 20 and Feb. 27 at Gonzales City Hall.

Parents or guardians should bring the child’s birth certificate and $40 registration fee.
