The Gonzales Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3693 is looking for “a few good men and women” to join the group in serving the local veteran community, VFW members said.

The VFW is the largest veteran organization and is committed to serving veterans which have become the smallest population in the United States, a news release from the VFW said.

The VFW meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Meals are served at 6 p.m.

The Gonzales Memorial Post is located 42430 Churchpoint Road. Post 3693 has a diverse membership and currently has members from the World War II era to current operations in the Middle East, the release said.

The Post Commander Brent Gautreau and Adjutant Harley Harlan are veterans of Operation Desert Storm, the release said. Vice presidents Jared Nolan and Josh Snyder, along with Quartermaster Tanya Whitney are also veterans, the release said. Chaplain Jerry Nobles is a Korean War veteran, the release said.

Post 3693 is committed to serving local veterans, their families and the community, the release said.
