Leadership Ascension’s New Beginnings project group was the beneficiary of a Give Back Night hosted by Sammy’s Grill on Feb. 19.

New Beginnings members distributed flyers in their surrounding communities touting the event, a news release said.

Sammy’s donated 10 percent of all sales brought in with every flyer presented from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Feb. 19. More than $200 was raised for the New Beginnings project, which benefits upcoming fundraising events for a sober-living home for women fighting addiction in Ascension Parish.

The project’s goals focus on the women and the facility, including financial education and goal setting to be rewarded with scholarships funded through donations, sponsorships and other fundraising activities. The New Beginnings team vision is to make a positive impact on both the lives of the women in the home and the facility that provides them the opportunity to stay clean and sober, the release said.
