Ascension Parish justices of the peace and constables recently completed an annual training from the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office in Marksville.

The annual training is mandated by law, and the four-day training session was conducted by the staff of Attorney General Jeff Landry. This was the 46th annual Attorney General’s Justice of the Peace and Constable’s Training Conference.

During the four-day course, the officials received instruction in arrest warrants, evictions, garnishments, marriages, identity theft, litter enforcement, basic first aid, judicial sales, drug awareness, law enforcement liability, Louisiana ethics and other topics related to their jobs.
