The Rubber Ducks adult softball team is headed to a world championship tournament in Florida and is looking for sponsors.
The team will represent Ascension Parish in the World Softball League/Worth World Championships on Sept. 11-14 in Panama City, Florida.
The Rubber Ducks, which plays in the United States Specialty Sports Association, ended the regular tournament season with a 40-16 record, with championship wins at the Hooters Showdown in Houma, Red Rock and Blue in Baton Rogue and Breast Cancer Awareness tourney in Houma.
The team includes Zane Michael, Ty Templet, Wet Delatte, Caleb Templet, Dillon Day, Jason Fernandez, Justin Boudreaux, Andy McKnight, Matt Richard, Jeremy Foster, Josh Brown, Kyle Mock, Johnny Persac and Eddie Wilkes.
To raise money for the trip, the team is hosting tournaments every Friday through Sept. 11 at Prairieville Park, 3843 La. 929, in Prairieville.
Entry fee is $100 per team.
