The Gonzales Police Department recently received a $750 grant from Entergy Corp., a news release from the department said.
The money will be used to assist in the purchasing of new laptop for the department’s uniform patrol division.
Entergy Corporation Senior Manager Thomas F. Peters and Customer Service Representative David Herring were instrumental in securing the funding, the release said.
“Entergy is proud to support our local law enforcement agencies,” Herring said in the release. “For local officers to be able to update technology affords them the opportunity to not only do their jobs more efficiently and on a quicker and safer level, but to also better serve their local community.”
Police Chief Sherman Jackson thanks Entergy for the grant.
“This new equipment is vital and will go a long way in allowing our officers to operate better in a real time scenario,” Jackson said.
