Ascension Catholic’s cross country team honored by parish president _lowres

Ascension Catholic High School’s cross country team was honored by the Ascension parish president Dec. 3 for winning a state championship.

Members of the team attended the Parish Council meeting in Donaldsonville for the honor.

The Lady Bulldogs won the Class 1A title at the Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA State Cross Country Championship held Nov. 16 at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.

Stephanie Breaux was individual state champion, while Sophie Daigle was an individual bronze medalist.

The team is coached by head coach Rocky Capello and assistant coaches Janet Daigle, A.J. Thibodeaux and Kiley Spano.
