Deputy Assessor Kim Latino recently achieved certified Louisiana deputy assessor status.

The certification process requires 135 hours of coursework set forth by the Louisiana Assessors' Association in conjunction with the International Association of Assessing Officers, a news release said. The certification is the highest level of professionalism available in the appraisal field.

“A well-trained staff is essential to providing you, the citizens of Ascension Parish, the best service you deserve. I am very proud of Kim’s accomplishment and her commitment to improve herself and to improve your Assessor’s Office,” said Ascension Assessor Mert Smiley.

Latino has been a deputy assessor in the Donaldsonville office for 12 years. She achieved certification within a year while maintaining a full-time work schedule and parenting her two children, Ashlyn and Dax.
