The Ascension Master Gardeners kicked off its Fall 2014 Library Series with its recent presentation Plant Survival In A Winter Wonderland at the Galvez Library.

Close to 50 people attended the program, which included a panel of Ascension Master Gardeners who shared tips for protecting tropical and other tender plants from harsh winter weather.

After last year’s brutal winter weather, area gardeners need to learn strategies and tips for protecting their well-loved plants, horticultural agent Craig Roussel said in a news release.

The discussion was highlighted by a slide presentation depicting Ascension Master Gardeners’ local gardens.
