Ascension proclaims Dec. 7 Gwen LeBlanc Day _lowres

In honor of parish Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer Gwen LeBlanc’s 42-year career, Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez proclaimed Dec. 7 as Gwen LeBlanc Day during the parish finance meeting.

“Gwen, you’ve always done a wonderful job and we appreciate it, and I just wanted to show this small token of appreciation,” Martinez said.

LeBlanc is a lifelong resident of Ascension Parish. She has been involved with many organizations over the years, including Ascension Parish Sales and Use Tax Authority Board, Parochial Retirement System of Louisiana Board, Government Finance Officers Association member (state and national), National Association of Counties County Administrators Organization, Louisiana Association of Parish Administrators, Leadership Ascension’s first class and past member of its Alumni Board, and East Ascension Rotary Club.

“With 42 years of dedicated service to the residents of Ascension Parish, Gwen LeBlanc has lived up to and surpassed the parameters defined in the Ascension Parish Home Rule Charter because she has performed her duties as treasurer of Ascension Parish with integrity and honesty, and all done in a professional manner,” Martinez said.
