A man wearing a blonde wig and pink gloves used a red hammer to smash the door of an Ascension Parish pharmacy early Sunday and made off with an undisclosed amount of prescription medications.

The Sheriff's Office is trying to locate Aaron Beyl, 36, in connection with the burglary at Galvez Pharmacy on Highway 42 in Prairieville, according to a news release.

Surveillance video caught the burglar as he drove up in a Toyota Camry, smashed the glass door and rushed in to grab medications. On the way out, he trips on the doorway and goes sprawling on the sidewalk before getting in the car and fleeing.

Detectives were able to identify Beyl as a suspect after tracking the vehicle to a residence in Baton Rouge, the Sheriff's Office said.

The news release says Beyl was not at the residence, but detectives located several wigs, a red hammer and a mask inside the vehicle.
