The St. Amant High School tennis teams hit the courts, competing against Central High School on March 16 and against Denham Springs on March 17.

The boys team downed Central 5-0.

In singles play, St. Amant’s Brett LeBlanc defeated Samuel Lockwood 6-1, 6-1. Luke Savoie, of St. Amant, beat Jack Way 6-0, 6-1.

The doubles team of Kase Savoy and Logan Ganaway defeated Collin Cashio and Griffin Smith 6-0, 6-0.

St. Amant’s Trace Sheets and Michael Melancon beat Zack Pollard and Max Raymond 6-2, 6-0.

Logan Langlois and Steven Saucier defeated Central High School because of forfeit.

The girls also shut out Central 5-0.

Victoria Buquet, St. Amant, outplayed Ashley Martin 6-0, 6-0, and Angelle Naquin beat Ashley Culmone 6-1, 6-1.

In girls doubles, St. Amant’s Julia Wright and Cassidy Guitrau defeated Madison Durr and Holly Hodges 6-2, 6-4.

Emma Frederic and Caitlin Denton beat Jessica Borel and Caitlin Stevens 6-0, 6-1, and Nicole Lawson and Cassie Melancon defeated Amber Elliot and Cami Tynes 6-0, 6-1.

St. Amant boys lost to Denham Spring 2-3, during matches in Denham Springs.

Savoy and Ganaway, of St. Amant, defeated Austin Barnes and Eugene Wards 6-0, 6-2.

Sheets and Michael Melancon, of St. Amant, defeated Daryn Wilson and Ross Alexander 6-1, 6-1.

Dylan Kesner and Braden Halford, of Denham Springs, defeated Langlois and Cage Fredric 6-0, 6-2.

The St. Amant girls came out on the winning side, 3-2. The results were:
