The Krewe de Halcyon’s royal court and princesses were presented Jan. 23 at the krewe’s first Mardi Gras ball, “Rendezvous in Paris,” held at La Maison de Bella in Prairieville.
Michael and Leslie Doyle, the 2016 king and queen, were honored along with their royal court, dukes and duchesses Ronny and Jeanne Daigle, David and Amanda Hamilton, and Thomas Page and Amanda Young.
Marissa Lass, Mallory McConathy and Jessica Rogers, escorted by their fathers, Jan Lass, Brent McConathy and Jeremy Rogers, were presented as princesses.
Honorary guest and former Parish President Tommy Martinez gave the krewe toast with his wife, Theresa, in attendance.
The Krewe de Halcyon’s core values are charity, family, fun and fulfillment year-round, a news release said.
The krewe has participated in and supported charitable fundraisers within Ascension Parish since May, including the St. Jude Walk/Run, the Veterans Day Parade, monthly Ascension Veterans Association meetings, donating eyeglasses to the Lions Club International “Recycle for Sight” program, Wreaths Across America and adopting a family in need during the holidays.
