In preparation for the holidays, the Gonzales Police Department plans to increase high-visibility seat belt enforcement efforts around the clock. Motorists and their passengers are urged to fasten their seat belts for every trip.

DIY Storytime

Fall DIY Storytime, featuring stories, crafts, stuffed animals, puppets and parachutes, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Donaldsonville, Gonzales and Dutchtown branches of Ascension Parish Library.

‘Turkey Bonanza’

Ascension Parish Library in Donaldsonville will host “Turkey Bonanza” for children of all ages at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Snoopy and the gang

In honor of the new “Peanuts” film, children of all ages will celebrate Charlie Brown, Snoopy and all their friends at the Gonzales Branch of Ascension Parish Library at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Alzheimer’s and diet

St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales will host “Alzheimer’s 101 and the Diet Connection,” a Healthy Community Series topic, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at LeBlanc’s Frais Marche.

Dana Territo, director of services for Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area, will speak about Alzheimer’s and how eating plays a role in risk reduction. Chef Renate Delarosa and dietitian Karla Millet, from St. Elizabeth Physician Group, will go over healthy cooking techniques.
