Seventh-graders at Gonzales Middle School recently qualified for the annual Duke University Talent Identification Program, a news release said.

TIP provides the opportunity for students to take the ACT or SAT as an above-level test, giving them a greater insight into their abilities and a chance to preview a college entrance exam, the release said. Students also are given the chance to participate in other challenging academic enrichment resources designed specifically for academically talented youth.

Students chosen for the 2015-16 Duke TIP are Triston Blackstock, Justis Brown, Rebecca Burke, Carson Butler, Reginald Falton, Josiah Helaire, Jayden Jackson, Jailynn Leban, Abraham Orozco, Landon Smith, Jacob Stein, Nickolas Tedeton, Ikera Truehill, Kittyanna Walker, Jaylen Wilson, Alexander Vallacchi and Adrian Zapien.
