Students at Pecan Grove Primary School in Gonzales were rewarded for good behavior by 70 East Ascension High School student volunteers on their Pelican Pride Day.

EA teacher Jamie Andrews helped organize EA Day. High school students from football, baseball, basketball, gymnastics, swimming, soccer, volleyball, golf and track and field teams volunteered to assist the students in events during the day. Pecan Grove students were allowed to run through the football tunnel and toss the EA-colored powder after a kickoff, which is part of a football game day high school tradition.

The cheerleaders and dance team taught the youngsters new cheers and dances. The drum line and flag team showed their skills and allowed the children to try the drums and flags.
