The 007s 2002 girls fastpitch team raced out the gates to the 2014-2015 season with 11 straight wins, a news release from the team said.

The 11 wins included two tournaments where the 007s captured the championship titles at the Katz Kickoff Classic and the Crossfire Fall Classic.

In the Katz Kickoff Classic, played at Butch Gore Park in Gonzales, the 007s went 6-0 and knocked off the Ascension Parish Shockers in the championship, 8-1.

The team then hit the road traveling to Gulfport, Mississippi, to face strong competition from Mississippi, Alabama and Florida in the Cross Fire Classic. They capped the tournament championship off with a hard-fought 2-0 win over the South Alabama Elite 02 squad from Mobile, Alabama.

On the weekend, all three 007 pitchers threw no-hitters in bracket play, with Morgan Oktavec throwing a perfect game and Alyssa Romano and Emma Hutchinson each tossing no-hitters.

Romano, Hutchinson and Oktavec have combined for 11 wins and an ERA of 0.33.

At the plate, Payton Granier, Hannah Presley, Romano and Oktavec are batting over 0.500 on the season, while the defense led by Anna Jones, Jena Vavassuer, Endya Gilyard and Kendyl Kerr have committed one error in the 11 games.

The 007s will make the short trip to Livingston and compete in a 20-team field versus teams from Mississippi and Louisiana before hitting the road to Jackson, Mississippi, and then wrapping up the fall season in Birmingham, Alabama, in the USFA “A” Class Fall World Series.

The 007s are coached by head coach B.J. Romano and assistant coaches Greg Presley, Randy Kerr and Patrick Jones.
