Gonzales Mayor Barney Arceneaux’s Mayor’s Council for the Arts has announced the lineup for the city’s upcoming Music in the Park concert series.

In its fourth year, the free concert series is held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on four Sundays in Jambalaya Park.

The spring concert series starts April 12 with a performance by the Boogie Men, a 9-piece dance band powered by a horn section, who play a wide variety of music that spans six decades and includes current, popular songs, a news release from the Mayor’s Office said.

On April 19, Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas will play on the park’s outdoor stage.

Blues and funk music legends Chris LeBlanc and Luther Kent will perform April 26, and Rockin’ Dopsie will close out the series on May 3.
