The Galvez Tigers C team revenged its only loss of the season Saturday by defeating the St. Amant Wildcats, 13-6, and winning the Southern Louisiana Youth Football Association’s Super Bowl title at The Pit in St. Amant.
Scoring touchdown for the Tigers were Edward Allison and Joshua Morrise.
Galvez coach Tony Avila said this was the first Super Bowl win for a Galvez Youth Football team “in many years if not decades.”
“They were the only team to defeat us this season, and we ended up being their only defeat in the championship game 13-6,” he said.
Both Ascension teams ended the season with 9-1 records, but it was the Galvez Tigers who lifted up the championship trophy.
“Needless to say, we are extremely proud of the boys,” Avila said.
