The St. Amant High School cross country team kicked off the 2015 season at the St. Michael’s Bayou Boogie at Highland Road Park on Sept. 5.

The girls team did not have enough runners to compete as a team, but senior Lloren Lawrence and sophomore Alyssa Swindell set personal records in the varsity race. The boys team placed 13th out of 23 teams, and sophomore Garrett Parks set a personal record.

Lawrence took top honors for the Lady Gators with a time of 24:13. Theo Swindell, with a time of 19:44, passed Eber Rivas (19:54) on the straightaway to claim top honors for the Gator Boys.

The team will compete Saturday at the Episcopal Round Table Run at Highland Road Park.
