The Dutchtown High School cheer squad recently was honored for its moves and community volunteerism.
At the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida, on Feb. 6-7, the Dutchtown cheerleaders placed sixth in Large Varsity Division 1 and fourth in Super Varsity Game Day Division, according to a release from the organization.
The Dutchtown High School cheer squad also was recognized April 3-4 as the top fundraising team in the country, raising more than $15,000, at the Team Up for St. Jude Grand Prize visit in Memphis, Tennessee. The top 10 fundraising teams across the country were invited to participate.
Samantha Hale, Rachel Millet and Jordyn McKey attended the event and had the opportunity to perform a routine and interact with patients and family at the Target House and St. Jude Hospital Children’s Research Hospital.
