“Louisiana Christmas” is the theme of the 2017 Jambalaya Festival Association Christmas Parade, slated for 1 p.m. Dec. 10 in Gonzales.

The parade route begins along Worthey Road, continues down Burnside Avenue and ends before Airline Highway.

The annual parade showcases decorated floats featuring parish dignitaries, Christmas music, local elementary and high school bands, dance teams and 2017 Jambalaya Queen Alyssa Taluso.

This year’s grand marshal is Frank Frederic, a longtime Jambalaya Festival Association member who reigned as king in 1987. He served as the association’s president in 1984 and 1992 and is a past recipient of the Nora Lee Ricca Award.

Parade registration forms are available at jambalayafestival.org or by emailing jamfestassociation@gmail.com. Registration ends Nov. 18.
