Representatives from PotashCorp, of Geismar, recently presented staff at G.W. Carver Primary School in Gonzales with a $30,000 check to purchase laptops for teachers to use in the classroom.
“The laptops will enhance our curriculum and expose our youngest students to skills necessary to be college and career ready,” Principal Latatia Johnson said.
Last year, PotashCorp donated about $550,000 to the community in support its six areas of priority: food and security; education and training; community building; health and wellness; environmental stewardship; and arts and culture.
PotashCorp produces nitrogen and phosphate products for fertilizers and industrial uses.
