Repticon slithers into the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The reptile expo features plenty of exotic animals, vendors and activities.

One-day admission is $12 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 12. Two-day tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for ages 5 to 12.

Cooking for a cause

Jambalaya cooks will prepare the tasty rice concoction Sunday at Tiger Tavern, 14505 La. 44, Gonzales, to raise money for the Combat Wounded Coalition.

This is the third year for the cook-off, which has raised more than $15,00 for the group that provides clothing modifications for soldiers injured in the line of duty.

Donaldsonville development

Lee E. Melancon III, director of the Donaldsonville Downtown Development District, will talk about improvements the organization has made to the city of Donaldsonville, as well as future plans, at 6 p.m. June 30 at the Donaldsonville Branch of Ascension Parish Library.
