Four St. Theresa Middle School students placed at the state level of the Knights of Columbus Substance Abuse Art Poster Contest.

It was a history-making achievement for the school, as it was the first time four students won in the state competition, a news release said.

Adam Cockfield, Margaret Giesler, Zoe Soulier and Brylee Brown received plaques, checks and recognition by the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2657 for their winning efforts.

In the alcohol awareness division, Adam won first place for the 8- to 11-year-old age group, and Brylee won second place for the 12- to 14-year-old age group.

In the drug awareness division, Margaret won first place for the 8- to 11-year-old age group, and Zoe finished in second place for the 12- to 14-year-old age group.

Adam and Margaret’s artwork has continued on for competition at the international level in the contest.
