The Louisiana Jaguars AAU basketball organization’s fourth-grade division team took home the runners-up trophy May 4 at the 2014 Youth Basketball Organization of America’s Louisiana State Championship the Alario Center in Westwego.

The team, coached by head coach Travis Turner and assistants Kenny Lewis and Willie Shelvin, went 3-1, falling short of the goal by a four-point margin in the championship game, a news release from the team said.

“They worked really hard this weekend,” Turner said.

The Louisiana Jaguars organization is headed by Ascension Parish Councilman Travis Turner with age divisions from fourth- to 11th-grade and features athletes from Ascension, East Baton Rouge, St. John, St. James and Orleans parishes.
