The Ascension Braves 14-year-old AAA team won first place March 8 in the March Madness tournament held at Oak Villa.

The team went undefeated in the tournament, winning four games.

In the first game, Landon Hebert and Robbie Martin combined to pitch a one-hit shutout to lead the Braves to an 8-0 win. Ethan Leblanc went 2 for 2 and Robbie Martin went 3 for 3 to lead the Braves at the plate.

The second game saw the Braves down by 6 runs after 3 innings of play. The Braves mounted a comeback and scored 6 runs in the fourth inning and 4 runs in the fifth to get the 10-7 victory. Chase Baldwin came in relief and pitched 3 innings to get the win. Leblanc went 3 for 3 and Jason Wakefield was 2 for 3 to lead the Braves hitting.

Colt Dupuy was on the mound for the Braves’ game three 6-0 win.

In the championship game, the Braves won 16-0. Jason Wakefield was on the hill and threw a 1-hit shutout to get the win. Reese Lipoma went 3 for 3 and Jason Wakefield was 2 for 3; Baldwin, Casey Hyde and Tyler Cambre were all 1 for 1.
