The Gonzales Garden Club held its annual Plant and Bake Sale on the front lawn of City Hall on May 8.

The gardeners sold hundreds of plants, raising $1,110 for their projects, according to a news release. The funds will be used for community garden upkeep, nursing home activities, federation dues, educational programs, local charity donations, garden journals and club handbooks.

Garden club members also gathered at Kidz Kove Discovery Park on May 15 to spread mulch donated by Scotts Miracle-Gro Growth Media Company in Geismar.

The donation was spearheaded by Malcolm Carter, plant manager of Scotts’ Geismar site, and garden club member Kat Hightower.
