Chris Carter, of Geismar, presented his Graduation with Distinction project during Blue and Gold Week activities held April 18-22 at Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts in Natchitoches.

In his project, Carter worked to use next-generation sequencing to compare the genetic expression of LMP1 surrogate genes in infected B-cells at different stages during proliferation.

Graduation with Distinction is one of LSMSA’s highest achievements, a news release said. Each student has met strict GPA requirements and successfully completed higher-level course work in the area of distinction and completed individual research and scholarly work, the release said.
