The St. Amant cross-country teams competed Saturday in the 2014 St. Michael’s Bayou Boogie — the first meet of the season for the boys and girls teams — at Highland Park in Baton Rouge.

Both teams include first-year runners who are freshmen and sophomores. Everyone finished their specified course, a news release from St. Amant High School said.

Junior Trevor Serpas set a new personal best time of 21:06. Serpas joined the team midway through last year’s season, the release said. His personal best last year was 24:58.

Other returners are seniors Erin Cain, Ariel Ballard, Joshua Averett, Joshua Colon and Gatlin Matherne; junior Nathan Carmouche; and sophomores Cristina Colon, Madeline Lato and Jillian Parks.

The teams will compete Saturday in the 2014 Episcopal Round Table Run at Highland Park.
