David Soulier has received the St. John Primary and St. Theresa Middle schools’ 2014 Mother Seton Award.
The award is given to the parent who has given untiringly to the schools and community, a news release said.
Soulier is the husband of Edith Soulier and the father of Cameron and Zoe Soulier, who are students at St. Theresa Middle, and Audrey Soulier, St. John Primary student.
Soulier has been an active supporter and volunteer in the Diocesan Robotics initiative, serving as a moderator for the St. Theresa Robotics team, where he mentors students with building and programming robots, guides students to learn problem-solving skills and teaches students critical thinking, the news release said.
Soulier’s contributions have helped the team succeed. The team won a grand championship title last year at the World War II Museum Robotics Challenge. Additionally, Soulier sought solicitations to support the robotics program, the news release said.
A parishioner at St. Theresa of Avila Church, Soulier is a lector, is a member of Council 2657 Knights of Columbus and is on the church’s Pastoral Council.
