Any chance of putting this in the ascension section of the advocate? The 12U Ascension All Stars won the Cal Ripken District 2 Tournament this weekend at Stevens Park in Gonzales. Brennan Hunt was selected as the MVP of the tournament with two solid outings on the pitching mound. On Friday night Hunt shut down Baton Rouge in round 1, only giving up 3 runs in 4 innings for a 5-3 win, putting Ascension in the semi-finals against Walker. Chandon Guy got the win in that game and the bats were hot, scoring 20 runs and winning 20-10. In the Championship game vs. Baton Rouge, Hunt was dominant again. He gave up only 3 runs in 5 innings, only having to throw 52 pitches. He was also 2 for 3 at the plate. Ascension won the Championship game by mercy rule in the 5th inning,13-3. The defense was flawless all weekend led by Dax and Kaden Powell on the left side of the infield. Antonio Lambert, JT Lambert, Jaedon Kinler, and Kaden Powell led the way at the plate. Next up is the Cal Ripken Louisiana State Tournament in Madisonville, LA starting June 30th. The 12-year-old-and-under Ascension All Stars won the Cal Ripken District 2 Tournament held recently at Stevens Park in Gonzales.

Brennan Hunt was chosen most valuable player of the tournament, a news release said.

The team defeated Baton Rouge in round one, giving up three runs in four innings for a 5-3 win.

The All Stars faced Walker in the semifinals, winning 20-10 before moving on to the championship game against Baton Rouge. The game ended by mercy rule in the fifth inning, 13-3.

The team moves on to the Cal Ripken Louisiana State Tournament in Madisonville starting Thursday.
