Friends and family members welcomed Airman 1st Class Bobby Ridenour III home as they met him recently at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport.

Ridenour is a 2013 graduate of St. Amant High School and is home for the first time since graduating from Air Force technical school and follow-up training, during which he learned to become an F-15 fighter crew chief, also known as an aircraft maintenance technician.

Ridenour, who shares the same name and birthdate as his father, Bobby Ridenour Jr., said he is following his father’s career path as an aircraft mechanic.

Bobby Ridenour Jr. joined the Air Force in 1991 and was a KC-135 tanker crew chief and is currently the maintenance base manager for Expressjet Airlines at the Baton Rouge Airport.

“This is a good example of how the U.S. Air Force builds skills and develops leaders,” Bobby Ridenour Jr. said.
