The Ascension Parish Master Gardeners Association, under the direction of the LSU AgCenter, will present a three-part fall series of educational workshops with gardening and landscaping tips for novice and advanced gardeners.

The workshops are hosted by the Ascension Parish Library.

“Common Gardening Mistakes”: 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22, Galvez Branch Library. Janis Poche, a local master gardener and past president of the Ascension Parish Master Gardeners and the Gonzales Garden Club, will talk about common gardening blunders.

“Do-It-Yourself Landscaping”: 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6, Dutchtown Branch Library. Martin Moser, a landscape architecture graduate from LSU and project manager at Philip Moser Associates, will talk about how to create a new landscape for your home.

Discovering Louisiana’s Native Plants ”: 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27, Gonzales Branch Library. Christopher Reid, a state botanist with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, will talk about the diverse native flora of Louisiana.
