During the holiday season, teens with the Ascension 4-H Junior Leader Club wanted to give more, rather than receive, a news release from the organization said.

Members voted to adopt families in need.

After contacting the families, the 4-H Junior Leader Club of Ascension Parish purchased toys and other items for the families Dec. 4 at the Gonzales Wal-Mart.

The gifts were delivered before Christmas.

The club completes one service project per year to help the needy, the release said.

This year, the club will focus on helping people with disabilities.
