The Ascension Parish School Board welcomed its two newest high school athletics directors and head football coaches during its Feb. 2 meeting, a news release said.
Brian Richardson, a 1992 graduate of Donaldsonville High School, was selected by DHS on Jan. 19. He has a bachelor of science degree and master’s degree in administration and supervision from Southern University.
Richardson worked at DHS for the past 15 years as a teacher, head coach for boys and girls track, and assistant coach for football and basketball. He earned several state championships as a track coach and served on the coaching staffs of the Red Stick/All-Metro teams, the release said.
Darnell Lee, a 1993 graduate of East Ascension High School, was selected by EAHS on Jan. 15. He has a bachelor’s degree from McNeese State University, where he attended on a football scholarship.
Lee served as an assistant football coach for EA for the past two years. His experiences includes three years as head football coach and athletic director at Northwest High School in Prairie Ronde, offensive and defensive coordinator at Washington Marion High School and football operations and head football coach of two professional indoor teams: the Louisiana Swashbucklers and Alaska Wild, the release said.
