Ascension Catholic High School sophomore Tamiko Terraz Stroud was selected to receive a U.S. Achievement Academy scholarship.

She is an enrolled freshman at River Parish Community College. In May, Stroud was announced as a USAA All-American Scholar based upon her academic achievement and was invited to apply for the scholarship, a news release said.

In the release, USAA stated that Stroud has “certainly compiled a record of which you can be justly proud of and we are confident that you will continue your pursuit of excellence.”

The Educational Scholarships are awarded by the nonprofit USAA Scholarship Foundation, an assemblage of educators and public servants.

Four hundred national scholarships in amounts up to $1,500 are awarded plus one $10,000 Dr. George A. Stevens Founder’s Award honoring the president of the Academy.
