River Region Art Association is offering classes and workshops on a variety of subjects in May.

Artist Diane Tygier is sharing her talents with Azalea Estates Assisted Living center residents during a May 5 workshop.

Artwork created in the workshop will be on display May 16 in an Estates Art Exhibition at the center.

In addition, work by members of River Region Art Association will be available for viewing during the May 16 wine and cheese social and exhibition from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Azalea Estates.

Watercolor artist Louise Hansen’s watercolor workshop is set for May 6-7 at the Depot Gallery, 1008 W. La. 30, Gonzales.

Hansen’s workshop aims at learning to paint water, clouds and skies. The classes will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day and will include lunch. The cost of the two-day workshop is $140 for members and $165 for nonmembers.

Hansen is a board member of the Louisiana Watercolor Society and Associated Women in the Arts, and member of the Louisiana Art & Artists’ Guild and the Southern Watercolor Society.

Acrylic artist Jan Hebert offers an ongoing acrylic class on Monday evenings to all skill levels at the RRAA Depot Gallery. To register, email Hebert at jsodyssey211@yahoo.com.

RRAA member Loveday Funck will participate in a group art show, “Brothers We Love,” at Chez Fab, opening on May 9. Chez Fab is a new art space at 3993 Iroquis St. in Baton Rouge.
