St. Amant High School’s DECA Chapter attended the DECA International Career and Development Conference on April 24 in Orlando, Florida.
Louisiana DECA state officers and St. Amant students Victoria Stewart and De’Jaun Ferguson and St. Amant DECA adviser Rae Broussard led the delegation.
Also attending were DECA members Emily Cardwell, Lillie Pastorick, Samantha Gautreau, Kaitlyn Biri, Lesley Gamez, Saray Gamez, Kearra Moton, Paige Wilson and Jordan Hollier.
At this conference, Moton, a senior, competed in the role-play event Principles of Marketing. Other members attended workshops that promoted leadership, communication, networking and business skills. Also, the state officers set up and attended caucuses with national executive office candidates and attended delegate meetings to vote for the new national officer positions, Broussard said.
The conference wasn’t all business, though, Broussard said. The students visited several Orlando-area attractions.
