The St. Amant High School Gators cross country team competed Oct. 4 in the St. Joe’s Run at Highland Park.

Several runners set personal records or season best times at the meet, a news release from St. Amant High School said.

Freshmen Richard Donaldson, Logan Byars and Jordan Schmidt were the first to compete at 9 a.m. in the junior high race. Donaldson and Byars set new average mile times while Schmidt maintained his pace on the 2-mile course, the release said.

Girls competing for the Gators were junior Lloren Lawrence and senior Ariel Ballard. Lawrence set a personal record with a time of 25:10, and Ballard set a season best time of 25:32.

Top Gator runner and sophomore Austin Parent set a personal record with a time of 19:06. Junior Nathaniel Carmouche set a season best time of 19:31 and broke his personal record of 19:15.

Rounding out the Gator team were sophomore Matthew Rosendale with a personal record of 19:36, junior Trevor Serpas with a personal record of 20:14, sophomore Adam Diaville with a personal record of 22:54 and senior Gatlin Matherne with a time of 21:11.
