Find a pet
Must Luv Dogs is holding an adoption event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, at PetSense in Zachary.
The group has also planned at Community Low-Cost Microchip Clinic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., March 24. It will be hosted by the Zachary Chamber of Commerce, 4633 Main St. Bark Box door prizes will be awarded, Raising Cane's plush puppies will be given to the first 25 attendees and lemonade cards will be on hand.
People are encouraged to register early for the limited time slots by emailing their name, phone number and type of pets to email@example.com. Donations start at $25 for the first pet and include the microchip and lifetime registration fee.
Splash pad to open
BREC will open park its splash pads, including the one at Zachary Community Park, on Monday, for the 2018 season. Splash pads will operate daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. until October. At each park, a button located on a three-foot pole will engage the systems' spray features and run for approximately two to three minutes and turn off. Pushing the button will activate the system again.
Easter egg hunts
- The Zachary Charity League will hold its fourth annual Easter egg hunt for ages up to 10 years old at 10 a.m. March 24 in the Historical Village. Tickets can be purchased online at zacharycharityleague.org. Parents are invited to bring cameras for a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny on the porch of the Bauman House. Tea party snacks and games will be available along with a chance to meet Alice and friends. Attendees are invited to being packaged fruit cups or crackers to donate for the Snack Packs program.
- Baker Civic Club is hosting its 10th annual Easter egg hunt on March 18 at 2640 N. Magnolia Drive, Baker. The hunt will begin promptly at 2 p.m. There will be other games and activities, as well as refreshments. The event, co-hosted by Baker New Life Baptist Church, is free and open to the community.

Pop-tabs for charity
Ronald McDonald House Charities is holding Pop-tab Palooza on April 20. Superior Ford in Zachary will be collecting can tabs through April 13 to add to the event. Money raised from the recycling project goes toward housing families with children receiving treatment at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
While preparing your taxes, take time to gather up old documents that need to be shredded to take advantage of Community Shred Days sponsored by the Bank of Zachary. The first event will be April 14 at the Main Branch, 4743 Main St., Zachary. The second event will be April 21 at the Central Branch, 13444 Hooper Road, Central. Disposal of confidential documents is free from 9 a.m. to noon both days.

Baker's Career and Education Fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 25 at the Baker Municipal Center, 3325 Groom Road.
