St. Francisville’s Main Street merchants have teamed up to present “White Linen Night” beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, featuring its unique shops, good food and a variety of live music throughout the downtown area. The Highlands Bank Trolley will provide transportation along the “White Linen Route” with stops at designated spots near convenient parking.
Participating merchants will host artists and musicians while samples from local restaurants can be tasted along the way. Trolley stops will be near parking areas and posted with signs. Maps with participating businesses will be available.

The Baker Fire Department will observe the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States by displaying outdoor memorial frames bearing the names of 50 of the 343 New York City firefighters killed in the World Trade Center.
The frames will be on view Sept. 1-14 in front of the Baker Fire Station, 3701 Groom Road, and a memorial service is planned for Sept. 8 at 10 a.m.
Citizens are invited to attend the program and stop by any time to see the memorial frames.
Acadiana Racing presents a full day of motocross action Sunday at Springhill Plantation on Carruth Road east of Wilson. Look for the signs on La. 19 to find the course. The “hare scramble” events are over a five-mile course. Racing gets underway at 8 a.m.
Practice runs will be held on Saturday. The course offers primitive camping for overnight guests.
Park operating hours
The Office of State Parks has revised its operating hours at various facilities. In the Felicianas, Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Audubon and Port Hudson state historic sites are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, and Centenary State Historic Site will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

East Feliciana Democrats plan a “Meet the Candidates” dinner night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 15 at Josephine’s Restaurant, 11302 Bank St., in Clinton. Back to school bash
The public is invited to a “Back to the Books Bash” at 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvin Jackson Memorial Park in Wilson, sponsored by the Wilson Community Youth Organization and Jackson Elementary School. Refreshments and school supplies donated by businesses and individuals will be provided.
