BAKER - Arson is suspected in a predawn fire Wednesday that damaged the exterior of an unoccupied home, according to a Baker Fire Department news release.

The homeowners were on a vacation cruise when someone set fire to the front exterior of the home at 2243 N. Magnolia Drive, the news release said.

The fire was reported at 4:47 a.m., and responding firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, limiting the fire damage to the home’s exterior. Heavy smoke damage also was noted inside the house.

Baker and State Fire Marshal’s Office investigators determined the fire was deliberately set, the news release said.
